Pacheco Pass Landfill - Closure and Landfill Gas System Design

Project Description:

EBA provided design, permitting and construction inspection services for the installation of a landfill gas extraction, collection and destruction system for both the inactive landfill and active portions. The system consists of vertical wells, above ground collection piping, blowers and a flare station. EBA collected field samples of the landfill gas, evaluated generation rates and sampled condensate for determination of the preferred available disposal options.

EBA Provided the Following Services:

  • Prepared the design and construction plans, specifications and bid documents for equipment procurement and system installation.
  • Involved in contractor bid review and selection.
  • Prepared permitting documentation and coordinated Authority to Construct and Permit to Operate from the Bay Area Air Quality Control Board and County Building Department.
  • Performed periodic site inspection during landfill gas extraction system construction.
  • EBA also prepared Preliminary Closure and Postclosure Maintenance Plans which included the design of a geosynthetic cap over lined portions of the landfill. In addition, EBA prepared the site's Stormwater Pollution Provention Plan.
